A Brief History
Len Rice began his veterinary career as a youthful volunteer at Cherrydale Veterinary Clinic in Arlington. After studying chemistry at VA TECH for 3 years, he entered the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Rice and his wife, Barbara then moved to Ithaca, New York where Dr. Rice completed an internship at Cornell University. After moving back home to northern Virginia, he began what would turn out to be 17 years of practice at Pender Veterinary Centre in Fairfax.
Jason Bollenbeck spent his youth traveling the world but eventually settled down at the University of Illinois for his veterinary degree. Dr. Bollenbeck then joined Pender in 1998 where he and Dr Rice formed a friendship that led to a joint interest in owning their own clinic. They realized that goal with the purchase of Towne Animal Clinic in January, 2006.
Towne Animal Clinic operated out of a former bank (the surgery suite was in the vault!) on Market Street in Leesburg. On February 10, 2011 we moved to a brand new facility on Plaza Street across form the fire and safety buildings. Outside, we have dedicated parking with handicap access. Inside, we have incorporated many "high tech" tools and techniques for your companions. However, we are particularly proud of our dedicated and compassionate staff. We care about each other and we care about you and your pets.
